The apartment of Georgia’s former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in Tbilisi has been seized, APA’s local bureau reports, citing the “TV Pirveli” channel.

It was stated that instead of paying bail in the amount of one million lari, Garibashvili used his real estate.

His lawyer confirmed the information to the TV channel.

Note that Garibashvili is accused of legalizing a particularly large amount of income for the purpose of obtaining substantial profit. On October 24, the Tbilisi City Court imposed a bail measure of one million lari against him. A 30-day period was set for the payment of the bail.

Recall that Garibashvili served as the Prime Minister of Georgia in 2013–2015 and 2021–2024. On February 1, 2024, he was elected chairman of the ruling “Georgian Dream” party, and on April 25 of this year, he resigned from his position and announced his departure from politics.
