Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni have departed for the United States, Le Temps reported, citing sources close to the Finnish leader, APA reports.
It is noted that both politicians had already accompanied Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his meeting with the U.S. President in August of this year. The mutual relationship between the heads of state has become closer following the Ukrainian leader’s previous visit to the White House, and it is assumed that this trip is also related to the U.S. peace plan proposed for Ukraine.
Yesterday, Alexander Stubb told AFP that he had contacted the U.S. President and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Sunday to discuss the peace plan.
