Türkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) has a positive view of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission’s proposal to meet with the imprisoned leader of the PKK terrorist organization, Abdullah Öcalan, on İmralı Island, said AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
He said that the party holds a positive position regarding the commission’s visit to İmralı. If the outcome is favorable, the parliamentary commission may carry out a meeting on İmralı Island with the leader of the terrorist organization, Abdullah Öcalan.
Güler also noted that the name of the representative who will take part in the meeting has not yet been determined.
