Baku. Anakhanım Hidayatova – APA-Economics. Armenian government made a decision to start prospecting for oil and gas extraction, APA reports quoting the Armenian opposition newspaper Haykakan Zhamanak.
The newspaper writes that here the talk is about shale deposits: ‘It is impossible to speak about huge deposits of this natural resource. But, the government that won a little oligarchy will go and not miss the chance to appropriate the reserve’.
According to the author of the article Aram Amatuni, prospecting of oil and gas deposits can be pre-election propaganda in Armenia: ‘Attempts to study oil and gas in Armenia are not new. Such attempts were made during Soviet times, but did not meet expectations. In addition, there is a complex in Armenian community due to the advantage of Azerbaijan in the field of energy resources’.
