Losses in Azerbaijan’s main gas pipelines decrease by more than 5.5%

In the first half of this year, losses in Azerbaijan’s main gas pipelines amounted to 24.1 million cubic meters, down 5.5% year-on-year, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.

In the corresponding period of 2025, losses in gas pipelines across the country amounted to 25.5 million cubic meters.

It should be noted that in January-June this year, 20,792.1 million cubic meters of gas were transported through Azerbaijan’s main gas pipelines, an increase of 2.6% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

In the first half of the year, 55% of gas transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus Pipeline. The pipeline mainly exports gas produced from the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field. During the reporting period, 11,442.2 million cubic meters of gas were transported through this pipeline, an increase of 1.8%.
