This year, around 48 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be produced in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Energy Kamal Abbasov said during his speech at the Baku Energy Forum held as part of the Baku Energy Week, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, it is expected that 30 million tons of oil will be produced in Azerbaijan in 2024.
Deputy Minister added that last year nearly 30 million tons of oil were produced in Azerbaijan, of which 25 million tons were exported.
"Last year Azerbaijan produced around 48 billion cubic meters of gas, of which more than 20 billion cubic meters were exported. Last year, 12 billion cubic meters of exported gas was transported to Europe, and 9.5 billion cubic meters to Türkiye," he underlined.
He emphasized that production is expected to commence next year in the framework of the development of deep gas layers in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field block, which will create conditions for the further increase of "blue" fuel production in Azerbaijan.
