Azerbaijan plans to expand the export potential of its mining and metallurgical industries, stated in the main targets outlined in the “State Program for the Development of the Mining (Metal Ores) and Metallurgical Industries in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027–2030,” APA-Economics reports
According to the document, it is planned to more than double the added value generated in the mining and metallurgical sector through the creation of new production capacities and the development of existing enterprises, while bringing annual export potential to approximately $2 billion.
The State Program notes that, for this purpose, it is planned to bring ore deposits into economic circulation, expand the processing industry, and increase the production of products with higher added value.
The document also envisages the creation of new production chains in the metallurgical industry, including the expansion of opportunities in iron ore, aluminum, and other metal products.
