Soil cleaning plant opened in Baku

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. A plant for cleaning and recovering polluted soil has been opened today in Buzovna village of Baku.

President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev and other top officials of the company attended the opening ceremony, APA-Economics reports.

The plant was built by SOCAR-Baghlan Close Joint-Stock Company for cleaning and restoration of oil-polluted soil. The plant with 540 cubic meters of daily capacity considers cleaning of oil detritus and brine waters in 65-ha field during 4.5 years.

SOCAR president pushed the button putting the plant in operation.

SOCAR-Baghlan was established by SOCAR (51%) and UAE’s Baghlan Oil Recovery (49%) in November, 2009. SOCAR-Baghlan delivers oil and oil products produced during the cleaning of oil-polluted soil and waters to the markets, conducts cleaning work in tanks, storages and pipelines using the leading production technologies, biological cleaning and chemical analysis.
