Speaking about the construction of Tanscaspian oil pipeline noted that, this project will establish new oil corridor between Europe and Asia: “At present, Kazakhstan has new Kashagan oil field, and there are several problems for exploitation of this field. After exploitation of pipeline, Kazakhstan will be able to transport its oil to Ukraine through Black Sea and Poland through Odessa-Brody pipeline and from here, to European countries through Baltic Sea”.

Minister also said that, Azerbaijan, Poland, Ukraine, Georgia db Lithuania have established Sarmatiya Company on construction of oil pipeline on the Odessa-Brody-Plotsk-Gdansk route: “The feasibility study of the project has already been elaborated and submitted to the relevant commission of European Commission. In turn, certain works must be conducted in Poland and Ukraine and lack funds delays these works. But, at present, Poland and Ukraine discuss the allocation of funds for construction of Odessa-Brody oil pipeline with European Union”.

Aliyev said that, implementation of Transcaspian oil pipeline depended on Kazakhstan and noted that Kazakhstan had to conduct several works on this direction: “Kazakhstan must construct surface pipeline from Kashagan to Kirik port, reconstruct Kirik port. Firstly, it’s planned to transport 37 mln tons of oil via Caspian Sea. Kazakh oil will be transported via tankers until the construction of Transcaspian oil pipeline, thereafter may be new submarine pipeline will be constructed. Kazakhstan must pass decision, Azerbaijan supports them”.

Speaking about Azerbaijan’s Dubandi and Sangachal terminals Minister said that, Azerbaijan could export 20 mln tons of Kazakh oil receiving from Kazakhstan, per year.
