Oil transportation via main pipelines decreases in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan transported 31.8mln tons of oil via main pipelines in January-August, 2011, down 3.6% compared to a year ago.

State Statistical Committee says 76.3% of transportation was implemented via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline. 24.3 mln tons of oil was transported via this pipeline during the same period, down 4% in comparison to a year ago.

At the same time, BTC transported 1.4 mln tons of Turkmen oil from Sangachal terminal during the same period.

Besides, Azerbaijan transported 12.4 bn cubic meters of gas via main pipelines, the same period of 2011, up 5.5% from year earlier. ¼ of gas was transported via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline. This pipeline transported 3 bn cubic meters of gas during the same period of 2011, down 16.7% from year ago.
