SOCAR: Geophysical works in Absheron structure revealed large gas reserves here

Note that, the French oil company Total has discovered a large gas field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea of Absheron block. The well is located at a depth of 6550 meters. Absheron block is located 100 kilometers from Baku. Extraction of the first gas unit in Absheron in Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea will be in 2020-2022 years. But if there is set a fixed platform, it is for five years to speed up the production of gas from the field.

Total owns 40% of the project, another 40% in the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), 20% - GDF SUEZ company.
