Azerbaijan plans to increase oil production

To him, we are talking about the works on the land: â€œAt present, it is impossible to increase oil production on the land. In future, Azerbaijan plans to extract oil from Mesozoic sediments. Currently, SOCAR with Conoco Phillips are working in this direction. New technologies will allow extracting oil from Mesozoic sedimentsâ€.

Yusifzade noted that at present the main oil production in Azerbaijan is Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block. He linked the reduction of production to the technical work carried out at the ACG after an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico: â€œAfter that accident, we have temporarily closed platform and conducted testing for securityâ€.

According to words of Yusifzade, the current level of oil production is enough for Azerbaijan.

Note that, at present, mainly oil is extracted from the ACG.
