To him, currently, Azerbaijan exports 750 mln cubic meters of gas to Greece via Turkey: “We told Turkey that are ready to substitute Botas as a supplier of gas to Greece. It is in the interests of all three parties. Greece is interested in receiving gas directly from the supplier, and Turkey - to get rid of the need to supply gas to Greece at the same price as it buys from Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is interested in the direct delivery of gas to the EU, even at the prices at which it supplies to Turkey”.

Nasirov added that currently, due to lack of infrastructure and demand in existing markets SOCAR can not deliver gas to anywhere except Turkey, Russia, Georgia and Iran: “Turkey does not buy large volumes, Russia buys as much as stipulated in the contract, the market is limited to Georgia, and Iran buys on the basis swap”.

He added that as soon as new sales markets are occur, Azerbaijan will be able to provide the additional gas export: “If we have the infrastructure on which we will be able to deliver gas from Turkey, Azerbaijan will decide to increase exports”.
