Azerbaijani President attends opening of Gobustan Experimental Landfill and Training Center

The head of state was informed that the center covering 38 ha area, has been provided with wind, solar, biogas plants. And it is a real example of the works carried out in this direction.

The president got acquainted with the stand reflecting activity of the center. It was noted that 3 wind turbines with 0.9 mW, 1.8 mW-solar energy plant and 1mW-bioenergy installation have been set up at the landfill. It is possible to charge the battery of vehicles, working with electricity, with current. The vehicle provided with energy can overcome 250 km distance.

Thereafter, the head of state got acquainted with management center. The laboratory allows to inspect the equipments used in the center and conduct experiments. It is considered to hold training courses in two trainings rooms. In general, the agency plans to build 21 observation stations, the first of which was established in Gobustan center.

The President launched the center in operation.

The President viewed panels for solar energy located in an area, introduced to the test site center. He also familiarized himself with the equipment used in the center, including samples of photoelectric panels, to be produced. With the help of alternative energy it is possible to grow any plant at any temperature. In the refrigerator compartment capacity of 330 cubic meters it is possible to set the temperature of -5 degrees to 5 degrees.

In addition, the president was informed that the lighting system and greenhouse installed at the landfill work through alternative energy. 10 single-storey buildings were built on the territory, which is also carried by solar energy. It is planned to increase capacity of the center up to 5.5 mW in future.

After the opening ceremony the president met with residents of the region.
