SOCAR: First gas in Absheron structure is expected to produce in 2020-2022

Touching upon the current problems related to drilling rigs, Yusifzadeh said that works were being carried out for elimination of these problems: â€œThe talks are conducted on purchase and construction of the rigs. In such cases, we will get first gas from Absheron structure in 2020-2022. If the platform is built on that point, we will be able to expedite the process for another 5 yearsâ€.

Note that, French Total energy company made a statement on discovery of a big gas field in Absheron structure, located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. Absheron structure is situated 100 km south-east from Baku and in 6,550 m depth. Absheron deposit was discovered in 1960s by Azerbaijani geologists.

Totalâ€™s subsidiaries â€“ Total EP Absheron participates in development of this structure jointly with SOCAR (40%) and GDF SUEZ (20%).
