Oil transportation via pipelines decreases in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan transported 27.9 mln tons of oil via main pipelines in January-July, 2011, down 24.5% compared to a year ago.

State Statistical Committee says, 76.2% of transportation was implemented via Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan oil pipeline. 21.2 mln tons of oil was transported via this pipeline during the same period, down 27.5% in comparison to a year ago.

At the same time, BTC transported 1.3 mln tons of Turkmen oil from Sangachal terminal during the same period.

Besides, Azerbaijan transported 11.2 bn cubic meters of gas via main pipelines, in the same period of 2011, up 7.3% from year earlier. ¼ of gas was transported via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline. This pipeline transported 2.7 bn cubic meters of gas during the same period of 2011, down 15.6% from year ago.
