SOCAR President: â€œGas talks must be finished with Turkey soonâ€

To him, at present, the sides are preparing to restore the talks on this contract: â€œPreparations are already carried out in connection with conducting negotiations with Turkey ion transit contractâ€.

Note that, the negotiations on contract have been stopped due to parliamentary elections in Turkey: â€œAgreement has been achieved with the Turkish side, meetings will start by the end of this year and works will be continuedâ€.

According to some information, the mentioned contract maybe soon agreed and signed during the expected visit of Turkish PM Rajab Tayyip Erdogan to Baku. Though Abdullayev did not confirm it, he said that the works on contract had to be finished in a short time.

In parallel, SOCAR discusses issue on extension of part of Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipe from Baku to Georgia or launching of new pipeline parallel to it.
