Oil transportation via main pipelines decreases by 1% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan transported 20 mln tons of oil via main pipelines in January-May, 2011, up 0.5% compared to a year ago.

State Statistical Committee says, 76.2% of transportation was implemented via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline. 15.2 mln tons of oil was transported via this pipeline during the same period, up 0.5% in comparison to a year ago.

At the same time, BTC transported 1 mln tons of Turkmen oil from Sangachal terminal within 5 months of 2011.

Besides, Azerbaijan transported 8.5 bn cubic meters of gas via main pipelines, the same period of 2011, up 9.4% from year earlier. ¼ of gas was transported via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline. This pipeline transported 2.1 bn cubic meters of gas during the same period of 2011, down 4.5% from year ago.
