Musavat Party chair Isa Gambar told APA that the party is in good mood about the upcoming elections and they want improvement of electoral legislation, formation of election commissions in parity and democratization of election environment.
Isa Gambar avoided saying whether he will stand for presidential elections in 2008.
“We are in an atmosphere of presence in the elections but the time will show everything,” he noted.
He added that the matter is to achieve fair and free election process. He added that the opposition forces are likely to unite in a single union if necessary.
Isa Gambar dismissed rumors that ex-minister of health Ali Insanov applied Musavat Party for membership.
“We received no request. But, application of any Azerbaijani citizen can be discussed at the party meeting,” he noted.
Isa Gambar touched on the rumors that he has agreed to give up “being a founder” of Yeni Musavat Newspaper at request of Editor-in-chief Rauf Arifoghlu.
“There is no problem in this issue. I told them in 1993 when I undertook to be a founder of this newspaper that I will stop being a founder when they ask,” he added. /APA-Economics/
