Hasanov saying that there was not pressure on free media in Azerbaijan stated that only state and the president had the guarantee of freedom of expression. He said that the government tried to remove problems existing in this field.
“There is no ground for anxiety. We are debating measures increasing state care for media today and I think that steps will be taken in this direction in future. As to imprisonment of journalists insulting dignity and order of several people it can not be appreciated as attack to free expression and media. Azerbaijan is constitutional state and those who violate law should be arrested. We do not any other way. Journalist’s blackmailing somebody is stain for Azerbaijani media. I think media can remove such cases and will do it,†he said. /APA/
