Azerbaijani-Russian border delimitation committees meet in Mahachkala - <font color=#FF0000>UPDATED</font>

Azerbaijan is represented by the delegation headed by Azerbaijani deputy foreign minister Khalaf Khalafov and Russia by the delegation headed by Russian Foreign Ministryâ€™s spokesman Alexander Yakovenko.
Azeri delegation includes chief of State Committee of Land and Cartography Garib Mammadov, Deputy Interior Minister Oruj Zalov, first deputy commander of Defense Ministry Eyvaz Jafarov and others.
The commission is negotiating on 1st, 11th and 12th areas of the border. These places are Samur bridge, the place where Azerbaijani, Georgian and Russian borders intersect and forest in Khachmaz. The commission members are also discussing the draft on preparation final documents on delimitation of Azerbaijani-Russian border.
Khalaf Khalafov told journalists that Azerbaijan-Russia relations are characterized by high level of political dialogue, interstate relations are developing in various spheres and all these are based on strategic partnership.
â€œThere is no political or economic divergence between Azerbaijan and Russia. Our problems solve the problems basing on constructive, mutual interest, understanding and respect. I am sure that the issues on bordersâ€™ delimitation will be solved in the framework of partnership,â€ he said.
Khalaf Khalafov said that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia reached $1.5bn and continues to increase.
Noting that they have coordinated 92% of delimitation of Azerbaijan-Russia border the minister said they have close positions on three sub-regions.
â€œI hope that mutual initiatives will help to coordinate these areas,â€ he said.
Official of Dagestanâ€™s national policy, information and foreign affairs ministry Uma Umarova told APAâ€™s Dagestan bureau it is early to publicize anything as the debates are not over yet.
Though the commissions were close to reach an agreement at the meeting in March in Baku, the problem was not solved.
The 13th meeting on delimitation of Azerbaijan-Russia border will be over tomorrow. /APA/
