Rene van der Linden meets members of political parties represented in Azerbaijani Parliament

President of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe Rene van der Linden visiting Azerbaijan met with the members of political parties represented in Azerbaijani Parliament, Parliamentâ€™s press service told the APA.
Mr.Linden spoke about PACE Monitoring Committeeâ€™s report on Azerbaijan and given recommendations, underlined that Azerbaijan achieved progress in holding free and just elections. PACE President speaking about the significance of presidential elections to be held in 2008 for strengthening democratic image of the country in international world said that the organization he is representing is ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan in this or other fields.
Azerbaijani MP, vice-chairman & executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijani Party (YAP) Ali Ahmedov directing Mr.Lindenâ€™s attention towards the unconstructive position of Armenia mentioned the necessity of taking serious measures against Armenia and the so-called Nagorno Karabakh leadership. The members of other political parties represented in the Parliament expressed their opinions. /APA/
