Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Arthur Rasizade today received the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) President René van der Linden, the Cabinet’s press secretary Akif Ali told the APA.
Azerbaijan’s integration into Europe was debated during the meeting.
Arthur Rasizade informed the PACE President of the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, political, economic and social reforms carried out in the country.
Azerbaijani premier highly appreciated the statement of René van der Linden at the press conference in Yerevan that the PACE will not recognize the elections in so-called ‘Nagorno Karabakh Republic’.
Arthur Rasizade also gave information about the steps taken by Azerbaijan for the solution to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
The Prime Minister said though Azerbaijan supports peaceful solution to the conflict, Armenia’s unconstructive position impedes the solution. Azerbaijan is insistent in liberating its territories.
René van der Linden said the projects implemented in Azerbaijan have yielded positive results and underlined the necessity of continuing measures for integration into Europe. /APA/
