Baku. Musa Ahmadov - APA-Economics. The volume of the foreign exchange market sharply declined in January-July compared to the relevant period of last year.

 

APA-Economics reports according to the statistics of the Central Bank that the volume of currency transactions in USD decreased by 2.7 times compared to the same period of last year. In other words, the volume of currency transactions in USD as of August 1 was $3,775,812,800, while this figure was $10,046,893,800.

 

Foreign exchange cash in the amount of $1,975,787,400 were sold in January-July, down 4.03 times compared to the same period of last year. In seven months of this year, USD 1,800,025,300 was sold, down 1.16 times compared to the same period of last year.

 

Volume of currency transactions in Euro declined 1.57 times in seven months of 2016. Euro operations stood at € 551,584,100 in January-July, at €865,871,300 in the same period of 2015.

 

Foreign exchange cash in the amount of €341,750,900 were sold in seven months of this year, down 2.03 times compared to the same period of last year. In the reporting period, €209,833,200 was purchased, up 21.96% compared to the same period of last year.
