Baku - APA-Economics. The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 22.32 points (0.2 per cent) to 11,203.55 in closing trades. The S&P 500 index, a broader measure of the market, gained 3.04 points (0.25 per cent) to 1,199.73, Sydney Morning Herald reported.
The tech-rich Nasdaq was up 3.72 points (0.15 per cent) at 2,518.12 after computer maker Dell reported strong quarterly profits that beat analysts’ expectations.
In London, the FTSE 100 index shed 0.62 per cent to 5,732.83 points while in Paris the CAC 40 lost 0.20 per cent to 3,860.16 points. The Frankfurt DAX, bolstered by announcements from auto maker Volkswagen and pharmaceutical group Bayer, edged up 17 per cent to 6,843.55 points.
