US, European stocks rise

Baku - APA-Economics. The US stocks ended higher on the back of strong economic data and M&A news, moneycontrol.com reported.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended up 78 points at 10404. The NASDAQ was up 35 points at 2274 and S&P 500 was up 11.2 points at 1116.

Asian stocks rose for a third day ((Hang Seng was up 400 points yesterday)). Kospi was up 1.3%, Taiwan up 1% and Straits Times up 0.3%. The Nikkei was flat. However, Hang Seng was down 0.6% and Shanghai down 0.1%.

European markets were trading higher. The CAC was up 1.6%, DAX up 2% and FTSE up 1%. ((Eurozone Manufacturing PMI for February jumped to 54.2 from 52.4 in January)).
