Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has expressed his gratitude to the United States, Qatar, and Egypt for their diplomatic efforts in securing a ceasefire in Gaza, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
Erdoğan welcomed the ceasefire agreement, which was reached following HAMAS–Israel negotiations in Sharm El-Sheikh with Türkiye’s active involvement.
“I extend my special gratitude to the President of the United States, Mr. Donald Trump, who demonstrated the necessary political will to encourage the Israeli government toward a ceasefire. I also thank our brotherly countries — Qatar and Egypt — for their significant contributions to achieving this agreement,” Erdoğan stated.
The President underlined that Türkiye will continue to play a constructive role in the process: “We will closely monitor the full implementation of the agreement and continue to support efforts to ensure lasting peace.”
Erdoğan further emphasized that Türkiye remains committed to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders.
