Three thousand people have been arrested in Iran for participating in anti-government protests, APA reports, citing Tasnim news agency.
Note that the protests, which began on December 29 after a sharp depreciation of Iran’s national currency, the rial, turned into anti-government demonstrations in most major cities across the country. It is reported that up to 2,000 people were killed during the protests. After mass rallies held by hundreds of thousands of people in support of the government on January 12, the protests subsided.
