Syrian Interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa discussed the latest developments in the Arab Republic by telephone with US President Donald Trump, APA reports.
According to the Syrian President's Office, the two sides agreed to continue cooperation in the fight against the ISIS.
"During a telephone conversation between Presidents Ahmed al-Sharaa and Donald Trump, events in Syria were discussed and support for the country's unity and the fight against terrorism was reaffirmed," the statement reads.
"The parties agreed to continue cooperation in the fight against ISIS," the office noted.
According to the statement, the interlocutors also "emphasized the need to guarantee the rights and protection of the Kurdish people within the Syrian state."
