Government institutions, schools, and universities in Aleppo will suspend operations on December 23, APA reports citing Syria TV.
According to him, the city's governor, Azam al-Gharib, issued the order in response to the outbreak of clashes between Kurdish fighters and security forces of the Syrian transitional government. The decision does not apply to organizations providing medical care and emergency services to citizens.
Al-Gharib also called on Christians living in the city who are near the sites of clashes to "temporarily suspend gatherings and celebrations until further notice" for safety reasons.
