Pezeshkian: People of Iran gave crushing rebuff to malicious plans of their enemies

The mass rally in Tehran on January 12 thwarted the plans of Iran's enemies and demonstrated the national resolve to defend the country's integrity, said President of the Islamic Republic Masoud Pezeshkian in an evening televised address, excerpts of which were published by the Al Mayadeen television channel, APA reports.

"The Iranian people have delivered a crushing rebuff to the malicious plans of their enemies, which will serve as a warning to American politicians who rely on treacherous mercenaries," he said. "This unprecedented action has confirmed the vigilance and responsibility of citizens prepared to defend revolutionary gains and religious values."

The head of state thanked the participants of the pro-government rally held in Enghelab Square in central Tehran. "This great event put an end to all disagreements and grievances," he emphasized. "Iranians united to defend their national interests and unity."
