Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said his country emerged victorious in its conflict with India and is now working toward peace, APA reports.
He made the remarks during his speech at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
“Our fighter jets took to the skies and destroyed seven Indian jets. We won the war, and now we seek to win peace,” Sharif said.
The Pakistani leader also emphasized the role of US President Donald Trump in achieving the ceasefire with India.
“Pakistan acknowledges the ceasefire made possible by President Trump’s decisive and farsighted leadership. We express our gratitude for this. Pakistan has nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. This is the least we can do for peace. President Trump is a true man of peace,” the Prime Minister added.
