Hamas has no future in governing Palestine and must lay down its arms, said President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas in his speech at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly via video link, APA reports.
Mahmoud Abbas drew attention to the fact that despite the suffering of the Palestinian people, they condemned the actions committed by Hamas on October 7.
"Actions against civilians, hostage-taking, all this does not belong to Palestine," he stressed.
Condemning the UN for inaction, Mahmoud Abbas noted that nearly 1,000 resolutions have been adopted so far and none of them have been implemented.
Emphasizing that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas stated that they are ready to take full responsibility for the administration and security of that territory.
"HAMAS and other factions must hand over their weapons to us. We do not want an armed state," he added.
