King Abdullah II of Jordan urged United States President Joe Biden to promote a "ceasefire and an immediate humanitarian truce in Gaza" during a phone call held by both leaders on Tuesday, APA reports citing Teletrader.

In a statement from the royal office, it was said that both parties talked about the "dangerous deterioration of the situation in Gaza" and King Abdullah emphasized the importance of keeping an "uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid while stepping up efforts to stop the war and work towards a political horizon." The King reaffirmed that the "only solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is the two-state solution."

Earlier, the US noted that it is not ready to support a ceasefire in Gaza as it would benefit Hamas.
