Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in his speech at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, announced that talks are underway between Israel and Syria on a security agreement and that there is a possibility of reaching an agreement between the two countries, APA reports.
"We have begun serious negotiations with the new Syrian government. I believe that an agreement can be reached that respects Syria's sovereignty and ensures the security of both Israel and minorities in the region," Netanyahu said.
