The prime ministers of Israel and Qatar had a “heart-to-heart” talk in the Oval Office today, US President Donald Trump said, APA reports citing CNN.
“They really had a heart-to-heart conversation,” Trump said of Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“It was a great conversation, I thought. It was productive. It was everything that you need to have something turn out to be successful,” he added.
During the call, Netanyahu “expressed his deep regret” that an Israeli strike in Qatar this month killed a Qatari serviceman, according to a readout from the White House.
Trump said the three countries will create a “formal trilateral mechanism” in order to “enhance mutual security, correct misperceptions and avoid future misgivings.”
