Around 55 children have been injured, including 2 babies who are critical, after what is being reported as a “gas leak” at a Jerusalem nursery, APA reports, citing Israeli media.
Reports say investigators are examining whether the heating was faulty at the daycare, a line of inquiry that would indicate possible carbon monoxide poisoning.
The Magen David Adom emergency service said the two babies were found unconscious.
The nursery was located in an apartment on Ha’Mem Gimel Street.
Medics tell Hebrew-language media that they were running in and out of the building, carrying multiple babies and young children at a time.
Police told the public to avoid the area.
