The operations of the EKOL TV television channel in Türkiye have been suspended, APA's Türkiye bureau reports.
The channel had been operating for 1.5 years. The relevant decision was reportedly made today.
In an official statement shared by the channel, financial difficulties were cited as the reason for the closure:
“The capital structure and changes that have been formed recently have had a negative impact on economic sustainability. In this context, our Board of Directors has conducted the necessary assessments. Unfortunately, at this stage, the decision has been made to suspend the activities of our channel.
We express our sincere love and gratitude to all our employees who have worked so far and to our valuable viewers who have shown us their trust,” the statement said.
