Afghan and Pakistani delegations have arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar, for peace talks today, APA reports, citing DW.
Both sides are hoping to defuse the crisis that has erupted after more than a week of fighting that has left dozens dead.
The delegations from both countries are led by their defense ministers.
The Pakistani side said the main goal of the discussions would be "to immediately stop cross-border terrorist acts originating in Afghanistan and restore peace and stability along the border."
Pakistan and Afghanistan accuse each other of provocations. Afghanistan denies the accusation that it is harboring militants who carry out attacks in border areas.
It has called on regional countries, including Saudi Arabia and Qatar, to prevent an escalation of tensions.
