Baku-APA. Niger's government extradited ten senior officials of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's regime to Libya on Wednesday, according to a source close to the Libyan embassy in Niger, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The ten figures include navy and air force commanders like Ali Kana, Shuaeb al-Furjani and Ali Abubaker, said the source anonymously, adding the delivery of the leaders was made " secretively" due to security concerns.

Dozens of officials from the former Libyan regime are reportedly residing in Niger after fleeing the North African country in October 2011 following the turmoil that toppled Gaddafi.

The Niger government last month sent Gaddafi's son al-Saadi Gaddafi, and former head of the intelligence Abdullah Mansour back to Libya, citing violations on their asylum rights after Tripoli accused them of trying to gather Gaddafi remnants to stage a military coup.

Saadi later admitted he is responsible for turbulence in the southern city of Sebha which left hundreds of people dead and injured.
