Baku – APA. “The resolutions of the International Community of Nations are binding under international law. Armenia has to withdraw from the occupied territories. This is the only way to achieve a political solution of the conflict,” said Alexander Funk, a Bundestag member from the Christian Democratic Party/Christian Social Union of Bavaria and a member of the Petition Committee while expressing his opinion on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh to The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS), APA reports.
The Bundestag member said that the complete re-installation of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan has to be guaranteed: “Only when the Armenian troops withdraw, the refugees can return home. This is the fundamental condition for a stable peace agreement. Azerbaijan is a special partner for Germany, especially in terms of energy supply. But we also have to think about the entire region of the South Caucasus and the solution of the conflict of Nagorno-Karabakh will secure the peace of the entire region. Germany realizes its responsibility in the matter and fully supports the path to a sustainable peace agreement. Likewise, the role of the United Nations and the OSCE are important. The best environment for the conflict resolution is a multilateral framework.”
