Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. The 30th meeting of the Executive Committee of Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has today kicked off in Baku.
APA reports that parliamentarians from 14 Islamic countries, as well as ambassadors of the Islamic countries to Azerbaijan are attending the meeting.
The verses from the Holy Quran were read at the beginning of the meeting. Azerbaijan is represented by first deputy chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafat Asgarov and head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the OIC Parliamentary Union Govhar Bakhshaliyeva. 11 issues have been included in the agenda of the meeting.
The report of the OIC Parliamentary Union Secretary General will be heard at the two-day meeting. The discussions will cover social and economic relations between the Islamic countries, business cooperation, environment, human rights, family and women’s affairs. A joint declaration is expected to be signed at the end of the meeting.
