Baku – APA. Football’s world governing body FIFA has provisionally lifted Nigeria’s suspension from international competition, APA reports quoting “The Voice of America”.

This allows the national team to play its African Cup of Nations qualifier match against host Guinea this Sunday in Conakry.

The Nigerian Football Federation was banned on Monday because of governmental interference in the federation’s activities and legal action brought by the National Association of Nigerian Footballers.

FIFA said the suspension was lifted “after observing that the situation had taken a positive turn in recent days.” This includes the reinstatement of NFF secretary-general Musa Amadu to his position on Wednesday.

The suspension is lifted provisionally until October 26, the day after a court hearing in which only the judge can vacate the court orders.
