Cash euro transaction rises in Azerbaijan

BakÄ±. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan-based banks reported â‚¬29 528 400 for â€œwe buyâ€ transactions and â‚¬414 539 900 for â€œwe sellâ€ transactions in euro for January-May, rose by 15.8% and 43%, compared with a year ago, said the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

This shows that the euro purchase by population exceeded the euro sale by 14 times in January-May.

The average monthly purchase volume of cash by population was 82.902 mln euro in current year, while it was 61.456 mln euro in 2009. These indexes on the euro sale were 5.906 mln euro and 5.305 mln euro.

Euro sale by population rose by 2.9 times, euro purchase decreased by 25.2% in May, compared with a month ago.
