Azerbaijan sees 32% increase in bank assets

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of June 1, 2010, Azerbaijan-based commercial banks’ assets reached AZN 12 041.93 million, up 31.9% or AZN 2 912.13 million from a year ago. Central Bank of Azerbaijan said APA that this indicator increased by 3.2% from the beginning of the year.




Loans to customers Stood at AZN 8 241.52 million (68.44%), correspondent accounts at AZN 849.01 million (7.05%), investment at AZN 874.95 million (7.27%), cash funds AZN 438.44 million (3.64%), deposits and loans to the financial sector at AZN 523.70 million (4.35%), and other assets at AZN 1 114.31 million (9.25%) of the total bank assets during this period.

Bank obligations accounted for 83% of AZN 9 995.25 million worth of liabilities.

Deposits made up AZN 4 491.05 million of the obligations, leaving AZN 4 669.11 million to loans and deposits from the financial sector and AZN 835.09 million to other obligations.

The banks’ total capital reached AZN 2 046.67 million as of June 1, 2010.
