Finnish President Alexander Stubb has been invited to join what Donald Trump calls an executive board for Gaza, according to the Finnish president's office, APA reports, citing yle.fi.
The news arrived shortly after Trump said Finland was among the countries facing possible new export levies to the United States.
The board is meant to implement Trump's proposed peace plan between Israel and Gaza and to oversee the territory's reconstruction.
Russia said on Monday that President Vladimir Putin had also been invited to the group.
The council's creation forms part of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. The United States announced last week that the truce had entered its second phase.
Among those named to the new administrative body are US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, former UK prime minister Tony Blair, and several businessmen.
Helsingin Sanomat was the first to report the news of Stubb's invitation.
