The final discussions on Kosovo’s status will be held on March 10, APA’s Eastern Europe bureau reports.
Thousands of Albanians of Kosovo protested in Prishtina against UN’s special envoy Martti Ahtisaari’s plan on the status of Kosovo. The meeting organized by the so-called movement “Vetevendosja (Self-Determination) called on her government to end the negotiations with Serbia and to declare its independency. It also demanded the withdrawal of UN forces from Kosovo. Kosovo president Fatmir Seyidiu and the Prime Minister Hakim Cheku stated that any act of violence will result in the failure of Ahtisaari’s plan, called on to boycott such meetings. On the other hand Martti Ahtisaari’s office said that though the second round of the talks in Vienna between Belgrade and Prishtina came to end, the positions of the two sides contradict each other, the Serbians reject the independency of Albanians, Kosovo does not agree to it. Martti Ahtisaari will begin the final round of talks on March 10, after getting acquainted with the offers of both sides. Kosovo mediators’ group from six countries and NATO representatives will participate in the meeting. /APA/
