Russia sees the meeting in Brussels in the “Armenia-USA-EU” format as a new attempt to drag the South Caucasus into a geopolitical conflict, it has been noted in the official statement Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, APA reports.
“Washington and Brussels – under temporary promises – want Armenia to withdraw from the CSTO and EAEU, the withdrawal of the Russian military base and border guards,” the publication states.
The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the Armenian leadership not to deceive itself.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the volume of grant support offered to Yerevan “cannot be compared with the billions of dollars of benefits that Armenia continues to receive from interaction with Moscow and within the EAEU and the CIS.”
In its statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed Russia’s intention to comprehensively deepen and expand relations with Armenia and expressed its belief that the development of cooperation will contribute to the realization of the fundamental interests of the peoples of the two countries.
