Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: Iran’s nuclear program is closed for discussion
# 26 September 2007 09:18 (UTC +04:00)
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad addressing the session spoke about nuclear program of his country. He stated nuclear issue of Iran is now closed and has turned into an “ordinary’’ issue and is being left to the United Nations nuclear watchdog to handle. President said that International Atomic Energy Agency gave up politicizing development of nuclear energy.
Ahmadinejad also belittled the Security Council, calling it "ineffective’’ and a tool of "arrogant powers.’’
“Foreign ministers from the permanent five members of the Security Council plus Germany are set to meet Sept. 28 in New York to discuss new sanctions on Iran, the Middle East’s second- largest oil producer. Several countries are preparing disarmament norms by filling their armours every day,” he stated.
He said in an example White House’s deploying missile defense system in Poland and Czechia.
While Mr. Ahmadinejad did not provide more details in his rambling speech about what he meant by the nuclear issue being “closed,” he said later at a news conference that this is Iran’s point of view and base on international law norms. /APA/
