US President George W Bush has announced a partial u-turn on his refusal to bring US soldiers home from Iraq, APA reports quoting Reuters.
Earlier this week, the top US military commander in Iraq said tens of thousands of troops could be withdrawn by next summer.
Mr Bush has responded by announcing that nearly 6,000 will be home by Christmas.
He also says he hopes to withdraw 20,000 more by next July.
The announcement comes amid the increasing unpopularity of the Iraq War and plummeting ratings for Mr Bush. /APA/
